Miguel Zenón and Wolfgang Muthspiel at the Bird’s Eye

Last evening, jazz greats Miguel Zenón (alto sax) and Wolfgang Muthspiel (guitar) performed for the first time together. Playing in an intimate duo setting at the Bird’s Eye Jazz Club in Basel they showed a stunned audience what it means to „master that instrument to become an extension of you, ... of your creativity“ (quote by Miguel Zenón). Playing original tunes from their respective repertoires they provided a view into their art and souls, and by closing ones eyes they let one participate in their telepathic conversation leading to most beautiful music. It is impossible for me to further reproduce the concert in words but below you find a few images of this historic summit.
